### 5. Implemented Tests ✅
#### T1.1: Interval Timer Automation
**File**: `e2e/tier1/test_t1_01_interval_timer.py`
Two test cases:
1. `test_interval_timer_creates_executions` - Main test
- Creates 5-second interval timer
- Verifies 3 executions in ~15 seconds
- Checks timing precision (±1.5s tolerance)
- Validates event → enforcement → execution flow
2. `test_interval_timer_precision` - Precision test
- Tests 3-second interval over 5 fires
- Calculates interval statistics (avg, min, max)
- Verifies ±1 second precision
**Success Criteria**:
- ✅ Timer fires every N seconds with acceptable precision
- ✅ Each event creates enforcement and execution
- ✅ All executions succeed
- ✅ No service errors
#### T1.2: Date Timer (One-Shot Execution)
**File**: `e2e/tier1/test_t1_02_date_timer.py`
Three test cases:
1. `test_date_timer_fires_once` - Main test
- Schedules timer 5 seconds in future
- Verifies fires exactly once
- Checks timing precision (±2s tolerance)
- Waits additional 10s to verify no duplicate fires
2. `test_date_timer_past_date` - Edge case
- Creates timer with past date
- Verifies either fires immediately OR fails gracefully
- Ensures one-shot behavior
3. `test_date_timer_far_future` - Edge case
- Creates timer 1 hour in future
- Verifies doesn't fire prematurely
- Validates sensor correctly waits
**Success Criteria**:
- ✅ Timer fires once at scheduled time
- ✅ Exactly 1 event and 1 execution
- ✅ No duplicate fires
- ✅ Past dates handled gracefully
#### T1.4: Webhook Trigger with Payload
**File**: `e2e/tier1/test_t1_04_webhook_trigger.py`

1. `test_webhook_trigger_with_payload` - Main test
- Creates webhook trigger
- POSTs JSON payload
- Verifies event payload matches POST body
- Validates execution receives webhook data
2. `test_multiple_webhook_posts` - Multiple invocations
- Fires webhook 3 times
- Verifies 3 events and 3 executions
- Validates all complete successfully
3. `test_webhook_with_complex_payload` - Nested data
- POSTs complex nested JSON structure
- Verifies structure preserved in event
- Validates nested path access
4. `test_webhook_without_payload` - Empty payload
- Fires webhook with empty body
- Verifies system handles gracefully
**Success Criteria**:
- ✅ Webhook POST creates event immediately
- ✅ Event payload matches POST body
- ✅ Execution receives webhook data
- ✅ Nested JSON structures preserved
---
### 6. Test Runner Script ✅

## Testing Best Practices Established
1. **Test Isolation**:
- Each test creates unique resources
- No shared state between tests
- `unique_ref()` prevents naming conflicts
2. **Clear Test Structure**:
- Descriptive test names
- Step-by-step execution
- Print statements for debugging
- Summary at end of test
3. **Robust Waiting**:
- Polling with timeouts
- Configurable intervals
- Clear timeout errors
- Multiple wait strategies
4. **Comprehensive Assertions**:
- Verify all success criteria
- Check intermediate states
- Validate timing/precision
- Test edge cases
5. **Good Documentation**:
- Docstrings on all tests
- Quick start guide

## Known Limitations
1. **Service Dependency**: Tests require all 5 services running
- Could add service availability checks
- Could implement service mocking for unit tests
2. **Timing Sensitivity**: Timer tests sensitive to system load
- Have tolerance built in (±1-2 seconds)
- May be flaky on heavily loaded systems
3. **Cleanup**: Tests don't clean up created resources
- Could add automatic cleanup in teardown
- Could use test database that gets reset
4. **Parallel Execution**: Tests not designed for parallel runs
- Use unique references to enable parallelism
- Could add pytest-xdist support

### Ready to Run
```bash
cd tests
./run_e2e_tests.sh --tier 1 # Run all Tier 1 tests (~8-10 minutes)
./run_e2e_tests.sh --setup # First-time setup
pytest e2e/tier1/ -v # Direct pytest execution
pytest -m timer -v # Run timer tests only
```
### Next Steps
The infrastructure is ready for Tier 2 (Orchestration) and Tier 3 (Advanced) tests:
- Tier 2: 13 tests (nested workflows, inquiries, retry policies, templating)
- Tier 3: 19 tests (performance, security, edge cases, container runners)
