Executions are the runtime instances of actions - when a rule triggers and an action needs to be performed, an execution record is created to track the entire lifecycle from request to completion (or failure).

## Observations & Notes

1. **Read-Only API:** This is intentionally a read-only/query API. Executions are created by the executor service when rules trigger, not directly via API.

||||
|

2. **No Cancellation Yet:** The cancellation endpoint (`POST /executions/:id/cancel`) is deferred until the executor service is implemented, which will handle the actual cancellation logic.
|
||||
|
||||
3. **Limited History:** Repository currently returns the 1000 most recent executions. For production, consider:
|
||||
- Database-level pagination with proper indexes
|
||||
- Archival strategy for old executions
|
||||
- Time-based partitioning
|
||||
|
||||
4. **Client-Side Filtering:** Some filters (action_ref, parent) are applied in memory. For better performance with large datasets:
